Welcome to the official website for the Worth The Wait Revolution. We are a non-profit organized movement of sexual purity.
Mission – An organized movement of sexual purity, which represents sexual purity with contemporary style and urban class. Through annual galas, model calls and runway events, this non-profit outreach is revolutionizing the current paradigm of abstinence. As the counter-culture to a lust-filled, “sexploitative” society, the Worth The Wait Revolution is empowering and equipping this generation with real solutions, real testimonies and real results.
Dr. Lindsay Marsh Warren, originally from Shaker Heights, Ohio, attended The George Washington University for undergraduate and medical school. Her residency training was completed in 2006 at The George Washington University Hospital and affiliate hospitals, specializing in anesthesiology. Dr. Warren is currently a staff anesthesiologist practicing with Aisthesis Partners in Anesthesia.
During Dr. Warren's tenure at GWU, she was chosen as an Early Selection Honoree for the School of Medicine as a sophomore. As a junior, Dr. Warren co-founded “Word Up,” a student-led outreach that provides a spiritual and social support system for its members through weekly sessions and gatherings. She received an Excellence in Student Life Award for her student leadership. After her senior year she was ordained as a minister.
In 2006, Dr. Warren founded the Worth The Wait Revolution (WTWR), an abstinence movement that is the counter-culture to the "sexploitation" of our day. WTWR has hosted Galas, Runway Events and more to promote the theme of ‘sexual purity with contemporary style and urban class’ over the years. Currently, WTWR has chapters that meet monthly in various cities throughout the U.S., promoting sexual purity, accountability, maturity and transparency. Her t-shirt lines, “I AM WORTH THE WAIT”, “HE WAS WORTH THE WAIT” and “SWAGGSTINENT”, are transforming the mindset of this generation.
In 2006, Dr. Warren also released her first book, The Best Sex of My Life: A Guide To Purity, where she shares the journey of maintaining her virginity until marriage. In her second book, The Best Sex of My Life: Confessions of A Sexual Purity Revolution, released in 2013, discusses healthy dating, courtship and engagement, while featuring the narratives of those who have been impacted by Worth The Wait Revolution. In 2014, Dr. Warren released her first children’s book, titled, I Am Worth The Wait. Her children’s book promotes self-esteem, self-worth, and self-confidence, while teaching the alphabet and new vocabulary words to young children. Her books have gained wide popularity and have impacted many.
Dr. Warren has been featured on CNN’s Young People Who Rock, BET’s Lift Every Voice, NPR’s Tell Me More with Michelle Martin and The Washington Post. Additionally, she has been a featured speaker/panelist at various conferences and events. Over the past 20 years, she has had the great privilege of mentoring countless high school and college students, and extending those mentoring relationships beyond Word Up and Worth The Wait Revolution.
On October 30, 2010, Dr. Warren married her husband, Gareth P. Warren. Gareth and Lindsay are the happy parents of their beautiful daughters, Grace and Charis.
I am worth the wait because I know myself. I know how having sex with men who are not committed to me has crippled me emotionally. I know that what I want out a relationship is more than fulfillment of a simple biological desire, more than an appetite for lust. What I want is companionship and love and togetherness that will glorify God through its manifestation. I believe that the Lord is bringing that to me and I believe that when God made me He had the man he means for me to be with in mind, and me in mind when He created that man. I believe that my name is written across his heart cause sometimes I can even feel it. -Vickie Klarence
I am Shovonte Bowen and I want to join the Worth the Wait Revolution because I am 19 years old and still a virgin. I want to stay that way when I go to college in the fall. I love to tell people that I am a virgin because they look up to me. I am not ashamed of my virginity! I want to thank you for taking the time out to read my testimony!
I came across the site from a picture posted on Instagram. For the past year and a half I’ve been practicing celibacy and it’s been a long road. After freeing myself from a terrible relationship with my daughter’s father I started to seek Christ. He immediately showed me how to heal my broken heart, how to love myself and best of all to save myself for my Husband. Being single and celibate is the best decision I’ve EVER made because I can draw closer to God and do his will. This site has brought me so much joy in just a matter of minutes and I look forward to letting everyone know I’m worth the wait and so are they.
My Testimony: WTW Gala 2013
Praise God! He knows I needed to be at the Gala last evening! Thank you, Omar Savory a fellow church member and contributor to your book for encouraging me to come even though I was skeptical There truly is life in following God’s commands! I am currently single after divorce, and I am committing myself to sexual purity. This is so serious, a matter of life or death for me. It doesn’t get anymore serious than that. I am interested in getting involved in this revolution- I need to hang with people who have my answer and get away from people who have my problem like your book says. Thank you so much for your vision! Thank You, Jesus!
I attended a workshop of Mrs.Lindsay in Denver at my church’s youth conference this year and I am seeing that I am worth the wait at 26yrs of age its hard sometimes to stay celibate when you were an abused child and teen and sex is all you’ve known your whole life But i know with the help of God and many others I can do it and I am worth the wait. Pray for me as I take the journey to do what God wants in willing obedience and fighting the devil’s temptations all the while as i go thanks I AM WORTH THE WAIT !!!
Dr. Lindsay, If you don’t remember me, I was at your house over the weekend for the sleepover and I bought your book. I just finish it last night and let me tell you, it was exactly what I needed at this point in my life. I had been struggling with being satisfied with being alone. Not that I needed a boyfriend exactly but just always having someone to talk to. I have been lately trying to become satisfied with God as my partner. At one point I was going through a stage where I wanted to get married. But by reading your book and meeting you i feel like God basically revealed all that he has in store for me. Through your story I could see that your life was what I am now and your life is where I want to be. In a general sense of course. Just as far as becoming a doctor and saving myself until marriage and waiting for the man that God has prepared for me. I noticed that you continued to use the scripture, “seek first the kingdom of god and his righteousness……”, when you talk about your success and it has given me a hunger to want to to do the things of God even more. I just recently started a prayer group in my dorm and I can just see how God is using me at Howard. And it makes me excited knowing that God will fulfill all of my dreams and aspirations simply by being obedient and doing his will. So all though we just met Thank you for the huge impact you have had on my life.
I was molested at the age of 4, by two female family members. I started to experience sexual impurities with male”s and female’s up until I was about 11 years old. I finally excepted Christ as my Lord and savior around the age of 11 & 12 . I decided to stay celibate until marriage, but temptation came strong and a year before I meet my husband I lost my virginity at the age of 18. I married a year later and I have one son out of wedlock and three children during marriage. It took me nine years to tell my family at the age of 20. I kept silent because I was afraid of starting problems in my family but I’m grateful for God and that he allowed me to share my testimony to the world. In 2010 I made a YouTube Video and because of it my cousin who was a lesbian for 10 years gave her life to Christ and has been walking with Christ ever since. So this is my Testimony.
I just want you to know that you truly inspire me! I first came across your story this Spring and for some reason, my heart immediately received your story. That is when God started dealing with me about saving my first kiss until marriage. Then I came across another young couple around my age that did the same thing! In short, God has given me FOUR confirmations that He wants me to save my first kiss until marriage.
Hello everyone, I heard about this organization through an acquaintance and I’m happy to know there are people out there who are pushing sexual purity. I, myself, am a 26 year old virgin and I’m proud of it. I’ve held my purity through various things in my life. It started with my mother telling me at a young age to not have sex until I’m married. Very simple..lol, since I wasn’t looking forward to growing up to fast. Next was music…odd I know. I grew up listening to various love songs that talked about being with only one woman and with my parents being married helped back up my want to wait. Lastly was my pastor. He would have meetings for men where he talked about men stuff like manhood, sex, etc. He spoke about what happens during sex and backed it up with scripture. Since then I’m looking forward to saying “I do” and being one with one woman and one woman only. I just wanted to share because I was encouraged to. Don’t get me wrong, its not easy to wait as many of you know but obedience is better than sin. Live to hear “Well Done”
I was never patient enough to wait on God. I lived in a prison I designed to protect me from pain. All it did was enhance the pain and keep out love. I walked out of that prison and I am currently feeling the pain of being vulnerable…waiting for something real. I’m taking a chance at faith…i’m scared, but I can’t go back in that prison…
